WELCOME ABOARD THE YACHT "SHANGRI-LA"

This ancient boat SANK in the spring of 2002.

After being raised, the boat sat on land for 13 months while litigation ensued.
Following that the bottom was totally "West System"epoxy filled, covered with 3 layers of heavy fiberglass, then bottom painted and launched.

The entire interior is Teak with some boards 20" wide.
When entering the interior of "SHANGRI-LA",

you will feel you have stepped back in time .
The process has been slow, but is actually far ahead of what the photos seem to show.
Basically, it's a matter of doing things right the first time
and this process takes a great deal of thought and planning.
Plus all new appliances and running gear had to fit through a 23" opening as no cutting or mechanical
intrusion is going to happen that will alter or deface the original structure.
A new (NOS)"Gardner" marine diesel engine and Onan Genset have been located and will be installed soon!

This is the boat as it is currently JULY, 2011.
